About Me
My name is Donovan Yaukey and I’ve been a full-time professional musician and entertainer for 46 years. My very first time as a DJ was in 8th grade at Antietam Junior High. Mark Rouzer and I borrowed 2 turntables and a mixer from Fred Jones. In addition to that very first dance, I also began playing drums, trumpet, and voice with my parents working band, “The Main Event.” From 8th grade until I graduated high school school my Friday and Saturdays were spent playing music professionally at country clubs, clubs, bars, weddings, and carnivals. On final band even was January 1990. Upon graduating high school in 1985, I began college and I started Phantom Shadow in my parents garage. I was busy 6 nights a week during college playing for schools, colleges, weddings, and private parties. I graduated in 1990 from Shippensburg University with a BSBA IN Business Administration general management. So from 1985-1990…. Together in parallel, my brother, father, and I quickly grew to offering 25 DJS doing over 2500 events a year by 1994. We owned the vans, equipment, music, and did all the training for the DJS we hired. All of our DJs were our friends and are friends still to this day. In 1993, I added a Limousines, bouncy houses, videography, and invitations to the mix. Over the past 40 years my company has produced well over 30,000 events locally and nationally.
I switched gears to just being a sole operator DJ in 2017. I have everything from Professional high end sound equipment and event lighting to photo booths and props. I like to produce your special event based on your needs and desires. I provide planning sheets that I have developed over my tenure as a professional entertainer to help clients choose the order of events plus the music they are most interested in hearing.
I have a passion for producing events that enable the guests to have a fun time. I am a two time Top 10 Finalist for International Mobile DJ of the Year Contest held in Atlantic City, New Jersey. I absolutely love the DJ industry and the clients that I entertain.
